Budapest - Hungary
Budapest is the capital and the at the same time largest town of the Republic of Hungary. With about 1.7 million inhabitants Budapest is the siebtgrößte town of the European Union. The unity community of Budapest resulted from the joining of the before independent cities of Buda, plague and Óbuda for 1873. Before, the name Budapest didn't appear itself, plague Buda was usual in the useage.
Story of Budapest
Budapest's history starts with the foundation of a settlement with fortress named Aquincum by the romans and a citizen town at 89 in the northern area of today's Óbuda. The residents of this area then were of Eravisken keltischen origin. Aquincum was and the end of the 4th century capital of the province Pannonia, because between 106 it lay at the natural border Pannoniens, the Danube. Here the place got a leading role with the fortress and became a seat of the Roman governor. The construction of a governor palace started by emperors Hadrian with 107.
After the decline of the Roman empire the walk of the pastoral people started from the east. This wave reached toward the end of the 4th century Pannonien. The storms of these warlike tribes devastated the landscape and partly destroyed the Roman towns. Relative quiet stopped off only by the acquisition of land of the Magyars at 896. It came to the settlement of the complete pannonischen pelvis and also the area around Óbuda. Hungarians turned settled by the Christianisierung lived in villages built by them with churches and did agriculture and livestock breeding. Plague always won in the center of the highways more to meaning. A busy ferry traffic arose over the Danube with the opposite Buda. A peasants' revolt took place 1514.
