Dallas is a city in the federal state Texas. She is the second largest town in the federal state to Houston. Dallas and the nearby Fort Worth form an important business, financial world and industrial center.
Story of Dallas
Five years after Dallas 1841 of white was first settled, one founded that village which got its name after the U.S. vice-president George M. Dallas. 1858 with the arrival of French and Swiss artisans used the first great population growth. By the construction of the railroad Dallas got connected to important places of the east, the west and the north for the first time which the economy positively influenced. Dallas had developed into the largest town in Texas to 1890. The gigantic east Texas oil field was to the southwest of the town discovered in 1930. The development started with that for Dallas to an important center of the petroleum industry. After 1950 the greatest growth started the fast expansion of the industry and the sales activities in the area of economy and population. The town became a scene of the assassination of U.S. president John F. Kennedy in November 1963.
