Dortmund is a circle free town in the eastern Ruhr district. It is the largest town as well as economy and trade center of Westphalia and belongs to the county Arnsberg in the federal state North Rhine-Westphalia of the Federal Republic of Germany. The town is a member of the landscape association Westphalia lip and of the regional association Ruhr. Depending on the exact counting date and source it is located in the sixth till eighth place of the largest German towns. Dortmund in moderation is the ninth largest circle free town of Germany area.
Story of Dortmund
