Lima - Peru

Lima is the capital of Peru and the region Lima Metropolitana. It is the largest town of Peru. An important traffic junction as well as the most important economy and cultural center of Peru are Lima with numerous universities, universities, Muses and historical monuments.

Story of Lima

Lima was Reyes founded by the Spanish conqueror Francisco Pizarro under the name Ciudad de on a native settlement on the south bank of the river Rimac in bulk on January 18th, 1535. Lima was occupied and looted by Chilean troops from 1881 to 1883 during the saltpeter war. The reduction brought wealth and prosperity from guano to the islands off the coast of the town toward the end of the 19th century. Within the years 1940, 1966, 1970 and 1974 earthquakes caused great damage in the town.
