Story of Los Angeles
The municipality of Los Angeles was founded by the Spanish governor of California, Felipe de Neve, on September 4th, 1781. At that time, livestock breeding was still done mainly there.
The name Los Angeles comes from the Spanish and indicates the angels.
During the Mexican American war between 1846 and 1848 Los Angeles was affiliated by U.S. soldiers occupied and the USA.
The place received town charter on April 4th, 1850; it had 1,600 inhabitants at that time. After the connection to the union Pacific Railroad in 1876 and to the railroad track after Santa Fe in 1885 as well as the beginning of the promotion of carbon 1890 the growth of the town started.
