Rome - Italy
Rome is the capital of Italy since 1871, the region Latium and the province Rome. The wider surroundings are the Campagna Romana or short Campagna. The independent state of the Vatican City forms an enclave within the town. The Vatican is the seat of the pope, the bishop of Rome and head of the Roman Catholic church.
